Goals
The purpose of this usability test was to:
Evaluate the usability of core flows (login, completing a task, navigation).
Understand how intuitive the voice assistant feature felt for first-time users.
Identify points of friction and opportunities to refine the overall experience.
Process
I tested the prototype with five participants, each with different approaches to managing daily tasks. They were guided through scenarios such as logging in, completing a meditation reminder, and adding a new task using voice command.
To prepare, I began with lo-fi wireframes that mapped the key flows — login, task completion, and voice input. Sketching first allowed me to validate ideas quickly and iterate before building high-fidelity screens.
Solution
Based on user feedback, I refined the prototype with changes to improve clarity and trust:
Added a listening indicator with moving dot animation
Introduced a stop and re-do button for recordings
Added edit icon to newly completed tasks
Smoothed out transition delays between screens
Added affirmations and small animations to reinforce positivity
Made completed tasks visually disappear for confirmation
Outcome
Through iteration, My Day evolved from simple sketches into a more fluid and reliable experience. Users now have clear feedback when recording, easy control to edit or re-do, and a streamlined flow that matches the app’s promise: tasks on the go, captured with ease and confidence.
